Consistently good service and food. Very good place if you’re craving southern or soul food. It is located inside the AMC Terminal and is right next to a Drive Thru Joe. Seating is right outside the two restaurants. Can take a while during peak lunch time and kind of on the more pricey side. The Baked Mac and Cheese, Fried Catfish, Jerk Chicken, and Oxtail is super good!
I'm from New Orleans and I've been looking for a great Soul Food/ catfish spot on island. This is it! The catfish was a great serving size and delicious! I got the mac and cheese and greens as a side and wasn't disappointed. The mini cornbread were added bonuses. Expect a little bit of a wait especially during lunch but it's definetly worth it. Great customer service. Just wished they were open on the weekends..
Been there a few times now, and it has delivered every time. It's fairly priced, not a terrific value or anything, but the food is always fresh and beautifully cooked. It's the best non-Asian BBQ I've had on island; their pulled brisket BBQ sandwich is amazing, as is the catfish. All their sides are always so well done, and I've gotten a ham bone in my collard greens every time I've ordered them. So much flavor. Definitely southern-themed. They are pretty slow, though, so if it's busy, you'll be waiting a little while, but it's not a fast-food restaurant.
Check this place out! It’s on base, so military access required. Friendly staff serving the best food. Had the jerk chicken, perfectly cooked and juicy with plenty of serving. Collard greens had a nice subtle spice and seasoned great. My coworker had a power bowl and her salmon was also cooked perfectly. They really made sure food came out great.
This restaurant is ELITE. Ordered the catfish and shrimp, Mac n cheese, collard greens. CALL IN YOUR ORDER. This really held me down. Wasn’t able to try the oxtail or jerk chicken but have a feeling those are good too. I don’t want to give such a good review because I don’t want to wait too long to order, but I would like this business to grow.
Some of the best fried chicken you can find on the island!!!! Staff are friendly and service is top notch!
Service is excellent, long lines because the food is so delicious! Oxtails on point Catfish Defiantly will come back again!
LISTEN!! THERE ARE NOT MANY SOUL FOOD OPTIONS IN ISLAND ESPECIALLY ON BASE. This is a convenient location on Hickam air force BASE in the Space A terminal. i went twice before heading back to my duty station on the mainland. It's a must try. Also pork chop is the best meat in my opinion followed by the flavored wings. They run out of pork chops daily. Tell them Alston the FOODIE sent you.
